After the Rain Window Canvas | Cedar & Ink

A garden view through rain-covered glass

After the Rain is an 8×8-inch canvas featuring a wooden window overlooking a green garden after rainfall. Beads of water cling to the four panes, softening the view of leafy branches, garden stones, and a wooden fence beyond. A small, handleless ceramic cup rests on the broad sill.

Rich wood browns frame the cool daylight and fresh greens outside. The cup’s muted gray and earthy surface add a close, familiar detail to the foreground. The composition looks outward from inside the room, holding the garden and the sheltered interior in one view.

Detail, light, and a familiar place

The artwork brings together the grain of the window frame, scattered droplets on glass, and the softened shapes of wet foliage. Its carefully composed perspective gives the scene depth without crowding it with objects. One cup is enough to suggest that someone has paused here.

Printed on canvas, the square image offers a compact piece of wall art for spaces where a larger work might overwhelm the room. The scene’s strong wooden frame gives it visual structure, while the varied greens and pale reflections keep the garden view open.

From the Cedar & Ink collection

Cedar & Ink is Mirabilia’s Japanese domestic world, centered on a home made beautiful through daily attention. Its rooms hold useful objects, familiar surfaces, and small views of the changing world outside.

After the Rain expresses that relationship through a garden-facing window. The weather has changed, the glass still carries its traces, and the cup remains within reach. It is a close view of ordinary life, shaped by material, light, and use.

A small window for your own room

Display this canvas in a reading corner, bedroom, study, or hallway where its garden view can become part of the room. Its warm wood tones sit naturally alongside wooden furniture, ceramics, and simple textiles.

It makes a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys rainy days, garden views, or intimate interior scenes. A matching After the Rain decorative magnet carries the same artwork in a smaller format.
