Field Notes is a natural canvas tote bag printed with green fern fronds and a golden skeletal seedpod. The branching composition combines full leafy shapes with the fine, open structure of the pod, bringing two different kinds of botanical detail together on an unbleached fabric ground.

The illustration is contained on the front of the bag, with natural canvas visible around it and through its open spaces. There is no printed slogan or rectangular white background. The green and golden colors remain the focus, while the canvas lends the design a warmer, everyday setting.

A botanical print with room around it

The tote body measures approximately 15 inches wide by 16 inches high, excluding its two long matching fabric handles. The artwork is proportionally placed within an approximately 10×10-inch area, leaving a comfortable margin of plain canvas around the motif.

Stitched handle attachments and the simple fabric body keep the bag’s construction straightforward. The botanicals are printed on the canvas, including the seedpod’s golden shading; they are not embroidery, raised ornament, or metal decoration. Their finely drawn structure can be enjoyed close up without filling the entire bag face.

Looking closely in Patent & Prototype

In Mirabilia’s Patent & Prototype world, natural forms sit alongside instruments, notebooks, and models. Field Notes takes that interest outdoors, where a leaf or seedpod can become the beginning of a drawing, a question, or a page of observations.

The design is decorative enough to enjoy without any particular interest in botany. Its familiar green foliage and restrained golden accent give it a place among everyday clothes and objects rather than reserving it for a special outing.

For everyday collecting

Carry it for errands, notebooks, a current read, or the small things that tend to accompany a day away from the desk. It makes a thoughtful gift for a gardener, nature journal keeper, botanical-art admirer, or someone who likes their everyday bag to include a carefully illustrated detail.
