A letter begun, a moment to carry
Note to a Dear Friend is a 1-inch round Story Pendant capturing a small moment of correspondence within Mirabilia’s Cedar & Ink world. The artwork shows an open blue-gray envelope holding an ivory note, a dark fountain pen beside it, and part of a ceramic teacup at the edge of a warm wooden writing surface.
Fine suggested handwriting appears inside the folded note. Sunlight crosses the tabletop, bringing warmth to the paper and wood while the envelope adds a soft, cool contrast. The composition leaves the message private, allowing the gesture of writing to someone dear to remain its focus.
Miniature artwork beneath glass
A smooth glass cabochon protects the illustration within a metal-plated pendant setting. The necklace includes a 20-inch coordinating cord with a matching clasp, giving the small round artwork a simple frame for everyday wear.
Designed in-house by Mirabilia and thoughtfully assembled, the pendant is lightweight and comfortable to wear. The glass brings the illustrated details into view, from the folded paper edges to the pen’s fine nib. The piece arrives ready for gifting or personal enjoyment.
From the Cedar & Ink collection
Cedar & Ink is Mirabilia’s Japanese domestic world, shaped by a home made beautiful through daily attention. Writing surfaces, useful vessels, familiar materials, and unfinished notes belong naturally to its rooms.
This pendant brings those details together through an implied moment of connection. A note has been written, the pen remains nearby, and a cup sits within reach. The artwork holds the pause around that act without fixing who wrote the letter or what it says.
For everyday wear and thoughtful giving
Wear the necklace with a plain blouse, knit top, or everyday dress, where the miniature scene can be noticed at close range. Its warm wood tones and muted blue-gray envelope make it easy to pair with a simple wardrobe.
It makes a considered gift for a dear friend, a letter writer, or someone who treasures handwritten correspondence. Give it for a birthday, a thank-you, or a friendship maintained across distance, perhaps with a note of your own accompanying the piece.
