Observatory Notes A5 Journal

Observatory Notes is a white A5 journal with a small illustrated observatory on its cover. An ivory building, blue dome, warm windows, and a fine brass-toned celestial arc form a contained vignette, leaving generous white space below. A white elastic closure runs near the right edge of the cover.

The architecture is the central detail. A doorway and low steps anchor the building, while the open dome and small stars draw the eye upward. The design stays modest in scale, giving the observatory the feeling of a carefully placed illustration rather than a full-cover scene.

A simple cover for a detailed subject

The closed journal has a smooth white cover and rounded outer corners. Its portrait A5 format keeps the observatory upright, with the illustration centered horizontally in the upper portion of the cover. The white elastic sits beside the artwork without crossing through it.

The blue, ivory, and brass effects are part of the printed design. There is no separate plaque, metal arc, or raised architectural decoration. The open white surroundings are intentional, allowing the detailed building to remain distinct when the journal sits among books or beside the things already on a desk.

Notes from Patent & Prototype

Mirabilia’s Patent & Prototype world joins observation, drawing, and imaginative work. An observatory belongs naturally within that setting: a place built for looking carefully, keeping records, and returning to a question over time.

This journal carries that atmosphere into an everyday object. Its cover can suggest an evening of watching the sky or the more ordinary habit of setting down an idea before it slips away, without assigning a particular purpose to the pages.

For the desk and the day ahead

Keep it near a reading chair, on a writing desk, or with the materials for a current project. It suits an astronomy enthusiast, an architecture admirer, a writer, or someone who enjoys a small illustration on a quiet cover. It can become a place for personal notes, plans, observations, and thoughts worth returning to.
