The Lamp Comes On Magnet

The Lamp Comes On Magnet is a 3 × 3-inch decorative hardboard magnet with rounded corners and a thin white border. A brass-colored dome lamp casts a broad amber shape across a deep teal background. An emerald glass vessel and two cream cups rest on a narrow walnut-colored shelf in this graphic still-life illustration.

The curved shade and rounded vessel are balanced by the crisp diagonal edge of the light. Gold, green and cream stand against the saturated teal, creating a strong arrangement with relatively few objects. The illuminated area is part of the printed artwork, giving the scene its evening character.

Materials and Format

The artwork is printed on a smooth white hardboard face, with a narrow continuous white margin separating the illustration from the rounded outer edge. The thin format keeps the image close to the surface where it is displayed, while the square shape gives the composition a clear boundary.

The illustrated textures belong to the printed design. The magnet itself has a smooth face, so the forms and colors remain the focus. Its compact size offers a way to collect the artwork without needing shelf space or a larger display.

Mid-Century Modern

The Lamp Comes On belongs to Mirabilia’s Mid-Century Modern collection, where familiar domestic objects are considered for their form, color and place in daily life. It takes the simple act of switching on a lamp as the starting point for a composition about a room settling into evening.

Living With the Design

Place it on a suitable magnetic surface where you will see it during the day, such as a refrigerator or a metal noticeboard. It can add a small illustrated accent to a kitchen, studio or home office. Check that the intended surface accepts magnets before choosing a display spot.

This design suits someone who loves sculptural lighting, colored glass or warm modern interiors. It is also a thoughtful gift for a new home or a workspace that needs a small visual connection to the end of the working day.

The same illustration is available as The Lamp Comes On Canvas. The two products are sold separately, allowing the design to be chosen for a magnetic surface or a small shelf display.
