The Long Way Home is a 3 × 3-inch decorative hardboard magnet depicting a sailboat approaching a sheltered coastline at sunset. A lighthouse and lit buildings mark the shore, while pale gold and rose color travels across the blue water. The boat’s cream sail is the clear center of the small scene.
The shore ahead
A gentle wake leads from the boat into the foreground, giving the illustration movement toward its destination. Rocky land and familiar lights provide a sense of arrival without showing the people aboard. The warm horizon sits above cooler water, balancing the evening colors rather than turning the whole image into a wash of gold.
A compact hardboard format
The magnet has a thin, rigid face with rounded square corners and outside dimensions of three inches by three inches. The image is printed on the front, retaining the complete sailboat, shoreline, and sky within the compact square. Its format is useful when there is room for a little artwork on a practical surface but little spare space on a shelf.
In everyday view
Use it on a refrigerator or another suitable magnetic surface where the sail and reflected light can be noticed. It can accompany a note or join a small collection of images connected to places and memories. The familiar coastal subject offers an illustrated detail within daily routines, without requiring the surroundings to follow a particular decorative theme.
A Salt & Story return
This Mirabilia world is shaped by boats leaving and returning, weather moving through a familiar place, and the objects people carry home. The Long Way Home gives that relationship a particular moment: still on the water, with the lights ahead already visible. The larger journey remains outside the frame, leaving room for a personal association.
The exact same artwork is offered separately as an 8 × 8-inch canvas. A distinct journal vignette also belongs to The Long Way Home family. The magnet makes a thoughtful small gift for a sailor, lighthouse admirer, or person who finds meaning in returning to a familiar shore.
