The Shuttered Room Journal

The Shuttered Room Journal is a white A5 journal with a small illustrated writing room on the cover and a white elastic closure.

A place to write

Open indigo shutters frame olive foliage and sunlit plaster beyond a wooden desk. A woven chair has been pulled back, and a letter, pen, and blue cup rest on the tabletop. Light falls across the terracotta floor and the edge of the desk. The small scene offers the visual language of writing before a word has been added to the journal itself.

The artwork sits modestly in the upper portion of the white cover, with generous blank space below. Its irregular edges soften the transition between the illustrated room and the plain surface. The dark shutters and warm wood give the miniature composition enough definition to remain readable without filling the cover.

A white A5 journal

The portrait A5 journal has a smooth white cover, rounded outer corners, and a thin white elastic closure near the right edge. The contained illustration leaves most of the cover plain. That balance gives the desk, chair, and open window a clear place on the surface, with no added title or decorative wording around them.

A detail from Sol & Sombra

Sol & Sombra takes its inspiration from a lived courtyard home in an unnamed southern Spanish town. Its world is shaped by the relationship between brilliant sun and cooling shade, privacy and welcome. Limewash, handled wood, terracotta, foliage, water, and blue ceramic appear through ordinary domestic moments. This piece brings one part of that imagined home into an object to live with.

Keep a place for your own words

Use it for personal reflections, notes from reading, or thoughts gathered at the end of the day. Its writing-room scene makes it a thoughtful gift for a reader, correspondent, or someone beginning a new notebook. On a desk or bedside table, the white cover keeps the effect quiet while the little window offers a glimpse of another room.
