Under the Same Stars
Under the Same Stars is a celestial shadowbox centered on an ornate astronomical compass rendered in deep midnight blue and antique gold. Constellations spread across its circular face while moon phases trace the lower arc and cardinal directions frame an intricate compass needle.
The composition combines the precision of an astronomical instrument with the beauty of a decorative object. Fine geometric markings, tiny stars, celestial lines, and warm metallic tones emerge against the dark blue field, creating a piece that rewards close observation.
Designed as a crossover between Mirabilia's Star & Solstice and Lapis & Lotus collections, Under the Same Stars marks the place where two worlds meet beneath one enduring sky.
A Celestial Instrument, Reimagined as Art
Designed in-house with attention to symmetry, detail, and visual balance, the artwork draws the eye inward through concentric circles of constellations, celestial markings, and ornamental linework.
In Star & Solstice, the compass belongs to a world shaped by stargazing, celestial navigation, observation, and the perspective found by looking upward. The collection remembers that generations of people have stood beneath the same night sky, searching its stars for wonder and direction.
Here, that idea begins to travel somewhere older.
Beneath an Older Sky
The same stars that illuminate mountain observatories also rise over the Nile.
In Lapis & Lotus, celestial observation becomes part of a world of ancient craftsmanship, scholarship, graceful geometry, and enduring beauty. Its artisans work in lapis, gold, carved stone, and papyrus, while scholars study constellations beneath deep desert skies.
The midnight blue and antique gold of Under the Same Stars quietly bridge those worlds. The compass suggests navigation and observation, while its intricate geometry begins to echo the refined decorative language waiting beyond Star & Solstice.
Nothing about the sky itself has changed.
Only our vantage point has.
A Piece Between Worlds
Display Under the Same Stars on a shelf, mantel, desk, console, or wall where its intricate celestial details can be appreciated up close.
It makes a thoughtful piece for a stargazer, astronomy enthusiast, traveler, history lover, or someone fascinated by the ways people across different places and centuries have looked toward the heavens.
Within Mirabilia, it also serves a particular purpose. This is both an ending and a beginning: a final glance upward from Star & Solstice and the first glimpse of the luminous world of Lapis & Lotus.
Across mountains, deserts, centuries, and civilizations, we have always lived under the same stars.
